Hearing aid battery quick reference
All four standard hearing aid battery sizes at a glance. The tab color on the package and battery is the fastest way to match your device.

| 10 | Yellow | PR536 | 5.8 mm | 3.6 mm | ~90 mAh | 3–7 days | IIC, CIC (smallest aids) |
| 312 | Brown | PR41 | 7.9 mm | 3.6 mm | ~175 mAh | 5–10 days | ITC, RIC, RITE, mini BTE |
| 13 | Orange | PR48 | 7.9 mm | 5.4 mm | ~310 mAh | 10–14 days | BTE, full ITE |

Key rules
- Color-coded packaging — yellow, brown, orange, and blue tabs are standardized across all brands (Rayovac, Energizer, Duracell, Phonak, etc.).
- Wait 1 minute after removing the tab before inserting the battery — this activates the zinc-air chemistry fully and extends runtime.
- 10 and 312 look identical in diameter (both 7.9 mm for 312; 5.8 mm for 10) — always check the number not just the size by feel.
- 312 and 13 share the same 7.9 mm diameter but different heights — they are not interchangeable.
- Open the battery door at night to extend battery life — prevents unnecessary drain.
